Hello Parents
It’s hard to believe that another school year is about to wrap up!
I hope that you have had a great year at CCNS and that you have some fun plans for the summer break. Hopefully I’ll see some of you at the CCNS summer camp.
As this school year comes to a close, we’ll be saying goodbye to our Director, Whitney Bunn. Whitney has done an amazing job as our Director during what has been a transitional time for the school. When she started we were seeing a trend of 4-year-olds going elsewhere for preschool, which caused a decrease in our enrollment and had put us in a tight financial situation.
During Whitney’s last almost 3 years as director we:
- Added the Fun Bunch program
- More than doubled the size of our summer camp program
- Went from 2 teachers to 5
- Streamlined some of our behind the scenes processes
- Have been able to keep all classes full with waiting lists
- Introduced the brand new Wasatch Wanders outdoor education program
And today, for a non-profit, we are in a strong financial position.
The Board of Directors and I have really enjoyed working with Whitney for the past 3 years and we wish her the very best in her new adventures.
We are also thrilled to have Cathleen Wilkes joining as our new Director beginning in June. Cathleen is a CCNS parent and has been a member of our board of directors for two years. Learn more about Cathleen here.
Our last event of the school year will be the annual Spring Picnic, this Saturday, May 20th. This is always a fun family event, and all proceeds from the picnic go toward CCNS student scholarships. I hope to see you there! Find out more details about the event here.
